General Documentation?

I'm looking for general documentation on usage of Regexp. As far as I can tell, there is no documentation whatsoever except the API docs. I would like to simply search the archives for some basic help, but the archives are down. So I was forced to subscribe and post here. I apologize for this, but can anyone point me in a direction?
