[users@httpd] Re: Child errors causing Apache to exit
I got an error,told me that the process fatal. And then I find the apache had crashed.
I restart the processes without any problem.At that time, I was installing the mod_perl and testing.I guests it may be some operation crashing the apache.
If you are testing new modules, it might not a serious problem.If not.......
PS: I never got any useful information from the error log.

And what happened then? Did you add a new PHP page/functionality, by any chance?

Logging is an important part of web-serving. If your server is so busy that you have to cut corners by suppressing logging, that would be a good reason to invest in a more powerful server.
BTW, it wasn't clear from your original post - do the alerts you see coincide with the entire apache server hanging or crashing? Or is it just one daemon that dies (ie, the browser session dies but you can access from elsewhere)?
