[jira] [Created] (ACCUMULO-1275) Update BatchScanner documentation to discuss the number of threads parameter.

David Medinets created ACCUMULO-1275:
----------------------------------------

Summary: Update BatchScanner documentation to discuss the number of threads parameter.
                 Key: ACCUMULO-1275
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/ACCUMULO-1275
             Project: Accumulo
          Issue Type: Improvement
            Reporter: David Medinets
            Priority: Minor

The User Manual does not mention query threads (see http://accumulo.apache.org/user_manual_1.3-incubating/Writing_Accumulo_Clients.html). And the Javadocs only says "the number of concurrent threads to spawn for querying" on the Connector page.

Where are those threads running; on the client machine or the nodes? Is 10 a reasonable number? Why? How can a developer tell when the number should be higher or lower? Can some guidelines be provided?
