Certificate X.509

Hi,

Can you give me some informations about my problem ?

I have two servers, one is the presentation server (Tomcat) the other is 
the business server (Tomcat + Axis).

I want to use certificate X.509 to authenticate users.

Do you know if is it possible to use the certificate from browser (like 
IE or FireFox) to presentation server and to business server ?
