Aliases don't work with ApJservMount

Probably a known issue, but...

If I have this servlet configured and working:
    http://www.foo.com/sapphire/servlet/lbb
And I create an alias, such as:
    Alias /lbb /sapphire/servlet/lbb
It works. But if I try this URL:
    http://www.foo.com/lbb
It doesn't, and it seems to me it should... ;-)

Is there a way to achieve the same thing in web.xml?
