does selectable Widget have a way to get label of corresponding SELECTED value ??

Hi all,

just wondering why a selectable widget does not provide a getLabel() method.
Since often you want to show the user the selected label  (e.g. companyname)
instead of value (e.g. companyid) while you need the id to perform a query.

Anybody a hint ?
