Ambari in Docker for Dev/Test Workloads
Hi everyone,Just wanted to make you aware of a project that I created called Amber:https://github.com/SamHjelmfelt/Amber
I created this project to simplify my dev/test process for Ambari blueprints, Ambari operations, and Ambari-supported technologies. Like many users, I do not have access to my own dev/test cluster, and my laptop has limited resources. This project creates dockerized ambari clusters (including multi-node) with minimal resource requirements and very fast start up times. I have additionally uploaded several pre-built samples into docker hub for an even easier on-ramp. For example, there is a 5GB image that comes preconfigured with Hadoop 3.1 and support for Docker on YARN. There is also an 8GB image that comes pre-configured with NiFi 1.8 and the NiFi registry.
After a recent refactoring, I thought I would offer this project to the community. If there is an interest, I would be happy to submit a pull request and help set up a build pipeline.
Please let me know if you have any thoughts or questions.
Thanks,Sam Hjelmfelt
