If you look at the docs for Media, http://docs.phonegap.com/en/3.0.0/cordova_media_media.md.html, you will notice that the first constant documented (mediaStatus) contains the actual code. Most developers won't ever see the nice constant. All they see is 1, 2, etc. If you go down the Media doc though you will see that MediaError does *not* document the same. One more guess that ABORTED, being first, is 0, but it isn't from what I can see in the source code.
