Applying new component to the sandbox

Hallo,

I would like to apply my runtime annotations "digester" as a new sandbox
component, and wanted to ask how to get the process rolling,

Cheers,
Ron

The commons sandbox is generally for use when people are attempting to
extract some code from an existing apache project and turn it into a
commons library.

Or when someone is developing a new feature for some existing apache
project and thinks that it could be useful for other projects.

It isn't really a place for people who are new to Apache to create new
projects in. In fact, in general a project at Apache has to have the
interest of at least a couple of existing Apache committers before it
can go forward. This isn't meant to be unfriendly, it's just that Apache
in general is reluctant to put its name on something unless that thing
has a reasonable chance of being supported long-term.

If a couple of existing apache committers are interested, then maybe
using the sandbox is a possibility, or the Apache Labs. If there is
already a group of non-apache developers people interested in working on
your idea then the Apache Incubator the right place.

But out of curiosity, can you briefly describe what your component would
do?

Regards,

Simon
