Interested to participate in GSoC
Hi,
I am a Master's student pursuing M.Sc. Computer Science at the University
of Stuttgart and I would be interested to participate in GSoC this summer. I
am particularly interested in contributing to Apache Gora for adding Geode
as a data store to the project. I already created a JIRA ticket for this.
[1]https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/GORA-698
[2]https://geode.apache.org/
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Sincerely,
Himanshu Acharya.

Hi Himanshu,
By the way, we can arrange a video/audio meeting to discuss it in more
detail.
Kind Regards,

Hi All,
In my last email, I attached the snapshots of the errors I encountered
while building the project.
Now, I changed the environment from Windows to Linux and was able to
successfully build the project.
Attaching the screenshot to this mail.
Now, I am trying out the Gora-tutorial module and looking for any drivers
of Gora projects for their version updates, etc.
Looking forward to a fruitful collaboration!
Many thanks,
Himanshu.

Hi All,
In my last email, I attached the snapshots of the errors I encountered
while building the project.
Now, I changed the environment from Windows to Linux and was able to
successfully build the project!
Now, I am trying out the Gora-tutorial module and looking for any drivers
of Gora projects for their version updates etc.
Looking forward to fruitful collaboration!
Many thanks,
Himanshu.

Hi Madhawa,
First of all, thank you for your reply and the detailed guidance for next
steps!
I will definitely be following that and accordingly, I have started to
build the code, but, I am facing some errors while doing so. I am attaching
the screenshots of the same to this email.
I am also working on the proposal as instructed by you and will be doing
some contributions hopefully like some minor changes, bug fixes, version
upgrades and so on.
Looking forward to have a good correspondence with you!
Many thanks,
Himanshu.

Hello Himanshu,
Thanks for reaching Gora mailing list. This project also involves expanding
the datastore support of Gora as the previous year's projects. What I can
suggest you is clone the source from [1] build the source and start using
the software. There is a tutorial written [2] which will give you a
good idea on what Gora does. Then you need to come up with a proposal
describing what has to be done, basic design, goals, and possible
approaches. Once you are done with the proposal, create a subpage using the
previous year's templates in the wiki. [3] If you come with any
issue/question, please always write to the dev mailing list, we as the Gora
community can always help you out with that.
