   …or so that checkpoints can correctly fail
   
   
   ## What is the purpose of the change
   
   Fixes a regression when the checkpoint completes although there is an error. The exception is never thrown before checkpoint completing because the exception throwing logic is enqueued to separate task, during checkpointing.
   
   ## Brief change log
   
   - Propagate exception and throw them in write/flush/close methods.
   
   ## Verifying this change
   
   This change added tests and can be verified as follows:
   
   - Added unit tests and ran existing unit tests, integration tests, and e2e tests.
   
   ## Does this pull request potentially affect one of the following parts:
   
     - Dependencies (does it add or upgrade a dependency): no
     - The public API, i.e., is any changed class annotated with `@Public(Evolving)`: no
     - The serializers: no
     - The runtime per-record code paths (performance sensitive): yes
     - Anything that affects deployment or recovery: JobManager (and its components), Checkpointing, Kubernetes/Yarn, ZooKeeper: yes
     - The S3 file system connector: no
