I have a question about Xalan..

Now a days, I am studying about Xalan and Xerces..
Now I sucess to rebuild Xalan and to run sample application(SimpleTransform). 

I want to make new application in my directory.
So. I tried..But I failed.. 
I don't know the reason..I used windows 2000.
In windows 2000, How do I make new application to use Xalan in my directiory?????
Help..me... I am very confusing...
