I tried to subscribe to Directory Commits ML sending a mail with an empty subject and message, but It has been rejected.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Your message was not empty -- the software (either your mail agent or a company mail server like Exchange) converted it to an HTML message prior to sending it to apache.org, which caused the message to look too much like spam.
