--- Comment #5 from JoKeel <jk...@progressive.com> ---
I tried replicating this bug using OpenOffice.org 3.3.0 OOO33m20 (Build: 9567)
and using MS Word Version 14.0.7015.000 (32 bit). My machine is running Win 7
and has 4GB memory. I then tried using OpenOffice 4.04 (same version of MS
Word).

I varied the number of photos with each attempt (e.g. I started with 56 photos,
then tried with 124 photos, and then increased to 258 photos). My largest file
was 2.32MB. Each time, all of my photos successfully displayed in the PDF.

I also monitored the memory usage ( MS Task Manager) and did not observe the
memory issues noted in the bug.

The steps I took were as follows:

I copied the photos from the sample that John included in his bug report. I
saved them to my hard drive. I then created a table in MS Word that contained
2 columns and 1 row for each pair of pictures. I then inserted the photos into
the table cells (1 photo per column, 2 photos per row).

My first table (and file) consisted of 56 photos (and thus 28 rows in my
table). I saved the file in MS Word. I then opened it in Writer. I selected
Fileā€¦ Export to PDF (using the default values in the dialogue box) and saved
this new file to my desktop. I then opened the PDF file from my desk top with
no issues.

For my second attempt, I copied the 28 row table and pasted it into the same MS
Word doc. I now had a 56 row table with 112 photos. I followed the same steps
as I did for my first attempt (save in MS Word, open in Writer, Export as PDF).
 Same success.

For my third and final attempt, I copied the 56 row table and pasted into the
same file (so now I had 112 rows and 224 photos). As with the other two
attempts, I was able to successfully open the final PDF with all the photos
displaying.

While I could not replicate the bug, it would be interesting (and helpful) to
find out what versions of software John was using at the time, and what the
configurations were (are) on his computer.
