mod_mysql_auth problems

Hello,

I have half migrated a web site we host which has some mod_mysql_auth stuff in access.conf but I am having some strange issues. I have tried putting 'Auth_MySQL_Info' in both .htaccess and access.conf but they both give me the same error:

[Mon Jan 7 13:57:05 2002] [alert] [client x.x.x.x] /var/www/x/members/.htaccess: Auth_MySQL_Info not allowed here

I have set 'AllowOverride' to both 'None' and 'All' but this didn't appear to make any difference. Any help would be much appreciated.

Tim
