Summary: Pull mod rewrites from a common file in cluster
Product: Apache httpd-2
Version: 2.3-HEAD
Platform: Other
OS/Version: other
Status: NEW
Severity: major
Priority: P2
Component: mod_rewrite
AssignedTo: bugs@httpd.apache.org
ReportedBy: mani55119@yahoo.com

Hi,
We've a cluster environment in which there are currently 4 server instances
(all having the same set rewrites in it). Each server instance has a config
file having more than 500 rewrites in it. We're planning to bring in 2 more
servers to the cluster to share the load and with the number of servers going
up in count, we find it extermely cumbersome to make changes to rewrites and
distribute the same across servers. My suggestion would be that is it possible
to put all rewrites in one common file and call that file from the config file
of each server? I'd appreciate if you could help me find a solution.
Thanks in advance.

This is indeed possible if the servers are sharing a filesystem simply using the
Include directive. If they aren't sharing a filesystem, then you'd need to
define exactly how you want the sharing to occur.
In any case, this is not a bug report and would be much better addressed to a
user-support forum like the users@httpd.apache.org mailing list.
