   Closing as not actionable on our side.
   
   `pmezard/go-difflib` is not a direct dependency of arrow-go — it is pulled in transitively by `stretchr/testify`, which we use for assertions in tests, and it appears in our `go.mod` only as an `// indirect` entry:
   
   ```
   github.com/pmezard/go-difflib v1.0.1-0.20181226105442-5d4384ee4fb2 // indirect
   ```
   
   It is test-only and never reaches anything a consumer of the library links against. Dropping it would mean dropping testify, which isn't warranted for this. The original report was also a transient module-fetch failure rather than a problem with the package itself.
   
   If testify ever drops the dependency, this resolves itself.
