[jira] [Created] (OODT-453) Create default File Manager policy for LocationAwareProduct

Ross Laidlaw created OODT-453:
---------------------------------

             Summary: Create default File Manager policy for LocationAwareProduct
                 Key: OODT-453
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/OODT-453
             Project: OODT
          Issue Type: Sub-task
          Components: file manager
            Reporter: Ross Laidlaw
             Fix For: 0.5

Create the set of File Manager policy files for the LocationAwareProduct type (i.e. files with geographical metadata such as latitude and longitude information).

This should be a full set of three files, 'elements.xml', 'product-types.xml' and 'product-type-element-map.xml'.

Store the files in http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/oodt/trunk/filemgr/src/main/resources/examples/geo.

Potentially the LocationAwareProduct type could be a virtual type, as described in the [File Manager policy guide|https://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/OODT/Everything+you+want+to+know+about+File+Manager+Policy].

Ross Laidlaw updated OODT-453:

    Attachment: OODT-453.rlaidlaw.2012-05-19.patch.txt

This patch creates three new files in the http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/oodt/trunk/filemgr/src/main/resources/examples/geo directory:

* elements.xml
* product-types.xml
* product-type-element-map.xml

These files describe a 'LocationAwareProduct' type. This type is very similar to the GenericFile type but with added fields to store latitude and longitude metadata.

I tested this patch locally by doing the following:

1. checked out the latest OODT files via svn
2. applied the patch locally
3. built OODT
4. copied the new files from the examples/geo directory to the file manager policy directory
5. ran file manager
6. used the file manager client to ingest a 'LocationAwareProduct' example file with associated latitude and longitude metadata
7. viewed the ingested product - confirmed type as 'LocationAwareProduct' and lat/lon metadata present.

3. built OODT
4. added references to the new files for the file manager policy
5. ran file manager
6. used the file manager client to ingest a 'LocationAwareProduct' example file with associated latitude and longitude metadata
