[jira] [Commented] (AMBARI-1509) Frontend: For service configurations provide ability to enter host level exceptions

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AMBARI-1509?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13587813#comment-13587813 ]

Srimanth Gunturi commented on AMBARI-1509:
------------------------------------------

On each property we need an '+ Exception' action which will add a new row for the exception with the default value. Beside it will be the '0 Hosts' link which can be clicked to show the 'Hosts Selection' dialog. In this dialog users will be able to select appropriate hosts which can have the overridden value.
Hosts which dont have that host_component, or hosts which are already overridden should not be shown. The dialog should allow easy way to view, select, deselect, and search for hosts.

> Currently service configurations are cluster wide. There is no ability to provide different configurations for different hosts, for a property. This would be very beneficial in providing different mount folders, or heap-size settings for a group of hosts.
