The bug in javax.xml.datatype.Duration has been reported to Oracle as Bug ID: JDK-8190835 [http://bugs.java.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=JDK-8190835].
It has been assigned a priority of P4, so is apparently an optional fix for the next release.
