htpasswd

I'm having a little trouble with the htpasswd program on linux.  I just upgraded
my system libraries to the newest public release... and my .htpasswd files
are no longer being accepted.   I belive they took out the public crypt stuff
and put in their own.  

Is anyone else running linux they can test this on?
