Planning for 1.0-alpha-2
How does the weekend of June 23rd sound for another Archiva alpha
release? Joakim, are you already planning to do one before then?
Any thoughts on how many of the 110 issues marked for 1.0-alpha-2 in
jira could actually make it in that two-week time frame?
Thanks,
Wendy

No apology necessary... I wasn't very clear about my plans. :)
It's staged here if anyone wants a preview:

I'll call a vote after I have a chance to review it.
Release Diary (uneventful this time!) is here:

Absolutely! I'll stage it on people.a.o and we'll vote on the actual
proposed distributions. It's not "a release" until it passes the
vote.

Don't we have to vote. I'm not specially for this, because we are working on
alpha, but what about apache rules ??

It looks good to me. I'll do 1.0-alpha-2 on Saturday afternoon (GMT
-7) from trunk, so please hold off on major changes (or branch for
them and merge it afterwards...)

That's good to know. I see 14 closed issues in alpha-2, and a few
more that are probably fixed (399 may have been solved by 370).
I won't have time to test until Friday, but if everything seems to be
in order I'll go ahead with alpha-2 so we have another milestone to
work from.

m1 is just postponed to a release after 1.0-alpha-2, and before 1.0-final
It's not out, it's not forgotten. :-)
The "1.0.x" fix version is just a holding area for 1.0 related jiras.
Things that are post-1.0 are in the "Future" fix version right now.
When I get back from my various trips these next few weeks I'll be
working on the 2 "big" pieces left for archiva 1.0 (Reporting and m1
support)

I don't agree to postpone m1 support for 1.0.X. It's one of the feature
which create the difference with others proxy repo tools... It's the feature
which help to install archiva in corporate contexts...

Fabrice,
Excellent news! :-)
Check out jira.
We recently moved a large chunk of issues out of 1.0-alpha-2 to the
nebulous 1.0.x fix version.
The remaining list in 1.0-alpha-2 I consider to be important enough to
address for 1.0-alpha-2, even if that means, a message on the jira that
says "yes, I recognize this as an issue in 1.0-alpha-2, but well
postpone it to 1.0-beta-1" ;-)

Hi Joakim,
which proxy related bugs do you think of? I've tested Archiva proxying for
some days, and it works pretty good for me. I mean, if we'd have to release
alpha-2, I wouldn't say no. :-)

There are a few proxy related bugs left to work out in 1.0-alpha-2, I'd
like to get a functional proxying working for the 1.0-alpha-2 release.
I think this weekend might be doable. But that depends on the help
testing the bug fixes.
