Fred Jonkhart commented on MSITE-151:
-------------------------------------
Upgrading from maven 2.0.2 to 2.0.4 site generation relying on plugin parameters
to change both site location and resource location broke .
I did some tests. Conclusions below.
The only working situation is using the default configuration as shown below.
${basedir}/src/site - location of site.xml
${basedir}/src/site/resources - location of resources
${basedir}/src/site/xdoc - location of XDoc documents
I performed the following test cases.
a) Define a non-default resource location (parameter <resourcesDirectory>).
The site.xml is used. (${basedir}/src/site/site.xml)
The resources are NOT copied to the target. (${basedir}/doc/resources)
The Xdocs are converted to HTML. (${basedir}/src/site/xdoc).
b) Define a non-default site location (parameter <siteDirectory>).
The site.xml is NOT used. (${basedir}/doc/site/xdoc).
The resources are copied to the target.(${basedir}/doc/site/resources).
The Xdocs are converted to HTML. (${basedir}/doc/site/xdoc).
c) Define a non-default location for both site and resources.
The site.xml is NOT used. (${basedir}/doc/site/site.xml).
The resources are NOT copied to the target. (${basedir}/doc/resources).
The Xdocs are converted to HTML. (${basedir}/doc/site/xdoc).
d) Define a non-default site location, but actually place files in the default location.
The site.xml is used. (${basedir}/src/site/xdoc).
The resources are NOT copied to the target. (${basedir}/src/site/resources).
The Xdocs are NOT converted to HTML. (${basedir}/src/site/xdoc).
The site location parameter influence both Xdoc and resources, but not the use of the site.xml.
The resources location parameter does not work at all.
