Possible to use MyFaces extensions with JSF RI?
Does anyone know if it's possible to use the MyFaces extensions with the JSF
RI? Specifically, I want to use the x:inputFileUpload component. I would use
MyFaces for everything, but, the Web browser back button behavior is less
troublesome with the RI, so, I want to stick with that.

Yep, it appears to work. Thanks.

Tree2 will be fine. No specific implementation is required.

Sean:
I am too busy and have not tried your tree2 as promised. On this topic,
make sure that your codes do not tie to any specific implementation.
Some extra effort in this area is worth to make your babies more useable.

I'm sure. But I am a bit busy at the moment with tree2, inputSuggest,
myfaces migration and oh yes ... my job. :-)
I agree its possible though. Personally I am going to wait and see
what Craig comes up with for Shale. I am likely to be using Shale
plus JSF anyways and for now, I can skip Tiles since I'm only going to
be using limited JSF in the upcoming release of our work stuff.

If you really rolled up your sleeves, I think you could probably get
the Tiles ViewHandler working on the Sun RI, since the ViewHandler and
state saver are both pluggable in JSF, and I think those are the only
MyFaces specific things you need to get Tiles working on the RI.

Should be no problem. That is one of the main advantages of having a
few different implementations. Even though they should all work
identically they don't. Each one will have its own minor bugs and
issues so you can and should switch back and forth as you see fit.
The only limitation I know of personally is the MyFaces Tiles support.
Its good but it *requires* MyFaces implementation.
