   @anasanjaria I have the same issus on Ubuntu 18.04. And I followed the same steps to setup the openwhisk. Then I met the problem. Now I solved by setting up **db_local.ini** . I checked the controller logs and found that it couldn't connect to `127.0.0.1:5984`  so it threw an error. Try to configure the **db_local.ini** and set `db_host=172.17.0.1`. Hope that it would help you.
