[VOTE] Release Apache Crunch 0.12 RC0
Hello,
It's been a really long time since we did a release, which I attribute to
a) a slower bug fixing cadence over the past few months because of how
awesome Crunch has become and b) my general laziness. But there is a lot of
good stuff in 0.12, and even better, getting it out the door means that we
can start working on an 0.13 release that removes a lot of cruft, where
"cruft" == "hadoop1-related compatibility hacks." So with that in mind,
this is a call for a vote on the first release candidate for Apache Crunch
0.12.0, which fixes the following issues:

Thanks everybody. I'm releasing the staging repos and updating
dist.apache.org w/the new release as we speak. Will send out the
announcement to user@ tomorrow after things are updated everywhere.

To test the Maven artifacts, I tried running tests on another project with
the Crunch Hadoop 2 JARs, but they failed with the dreaded:
java.lang.IncompatibleClassChangeError: Found interface
org.apache.hadoop.mapreduce.JobContext, but class was expected
Looking at
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/orgapachecrunch-1019/org/apache/crunch/crunch-core/0.12.0-hadoop2/crunch-core-0.12.0-hadoop2.jar,
it has invokevirtual rather than invokeinterface calls on JobContext, so it
seems that it was compiled with the Hadoop 1 profile. Can you try

+1 to release.
Checked checksums & signature (with the new key), ran the full
integration test suite for hadoop1 and hadoop2.
Thanks for starting up this release, BTW. It was long overdue, but I
don't think any blame can be placed on laziness on your part --
technically any of us can start up a release, so I'll just chalk it up
to the level of awesomeness in Crunch.
