ok, I've grabbed the current php source and looked into sapi_apache2.c. It's
definitely a php bug. Line 90 shows:
if (ap_pass_brigade(f->next, bb) != APR_SUCCESS) {
php_handle_aborted_connection();
}
which won't match in most cases. Also Line 252 and 498.
AFAICS mod_php should (additionally) check connection->aborted.
