I created a branch called "branch-release" and pushed it to apache git (the incubator-calcite repo). It has not been mirrored to https://github.com/apache/incubator-calcite.

It might be because the push did not contain any new commits. It is just functioning as a "label" on an existing commit. (No I can't use a real git label.)

Why is the branch not being propagated?
