Have a look at the proposal/http tasks in CVS. These work as is, but with each
version of java having different (inconsistent) behaviour, we've held back
committing them till someone (anyone!) can migrate them to Jakarta commons
HttpClient. If you are preprared to deal with the inconsistences, use them today.
