Need help in using Jmeter

Hi All,
I have downloaded JMeter beta 1.5. When i try to start up Jmeter it throws  
An EXCEPTION_STACK_OVERFLOW exception has been detected in native code 
outside the VM. error .
How do i use Jmeter ?

Please guide me on this cause i am new to this.
