[jira] Created: (DERBY-657) Release archives should have executable bits set for scripts and text files should have proper line endings.

Release archives should have executable bits set for scripts and text files should have proper line endings.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

         Key: DERBY-657
         URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/DERBY-657
     Project: Derby
        Type: Bug
  Components: Build tools
    Versions: 10.2.0.0
    Reporter: Andrew McIntyre
 Assigned to: Andrew McIntyre
    Priority: Blocker
     Fix For: 10.1.2.1, 10.1.3.0, 10.2.0.0

Script files in the frameworks directory of the -bin distribution should have the executable bit set so they can be run on Unix platforms without the need to fix the scripts' permissions. Text files should have line endings dependant on the type of archive: CRLF for .zips, LF for .tar.gz. This distinction should be noted on the download page for the release.
