Any experience with Apache's mod_deflate with Subversion?

Does anyone have any experience with using mod_deflate on their Apache
server when using Subversion's Apache/WebDAV authentication model?  Does
it offer any speed improvement over non-deflated access?  I'm thinking
checkout and updates here, not authentication with is fast enough.
