choosing a build for basic formula support (1.8-dev throws runtime exception?)

Found in JavaDocs for build 1.8-dev:

setCellType(int cellType)
set the cells type (numeric, formula or string) -- DONT USE
FORMULAS IN THIS RELEASE WE'LL THROW YOU A RUNTIME EXCEPTION IF YOU DO

Which build can I use to create formulas such as below?

=(C15/1000)*SUM(E15:H15)+I15
=SUM(K15:K20)

This is a write-only, one worksheet project.

If I need 1.9-dev for this, could you please quickly explain how to
build it? I setup 1.8.-dev yesterday using build.bat; do I update that
build with the single jar file from the nightly? What are the steps?

Thanks.

build fail from CVS HEAD

Posted by David Burke <da...@burkesoftware.com>.
I'm running build.bat to build from CVS HEAD checked out using
TortoiseCVS under WindowsXP.

The flow interrupts after expanding and building src, right at the point
where user command-line entry ALL is to be entered.

Tried a checkout of an earlier release (Jan 31 02) and had the same
problem.

Funny, didn't have any trouble initializing Centipede in the milestone
version 1.8-dev that gave me a clean working build yesterday.

Is this local to my install? Do I need to setup Centipede separately
from the build.bat process? What am I doing wrong, or is there a
problem with the installation scripts?
