which binary dist for windows to download?

I want to use SVN to version a small sized personal project in Java. Need just a simple, basic configuration.
I have a Windows XP machine.
Have started reading the SVN book. Am thinking will need to use the custom svnserve server.
On this page, I see several binaries - which should I use?
http://subversion.tigris.org/servlets/ProjectDocumentList?folderID=8100

thanks,
Anil

Based on the descriptions, I see svn-win32-1.5.4_dev.zip is the
development libraries and documentation, so that's not what you want.
You want the binaries, which are svn-win32-1.5.4.zip.

Normally, you would need to install both a server and a client, to support multiple people across multiple machines. But if you're working on just a personal project, you can use a file:// url, and avoid installing any server.

Either way, for most users, I'd recommend tortoisesvn as the client, which would mean, you probably don't have any need to download subversion binaries at all except if you want to run a svn server (or work on command prompt). For most users in the situation you've described, I'd recommend - just install tortoisesvn, use it to create a repository in a directory somewhere, and then checkout that repository into your working area. Voila. Add files, etc.
