How can you help Spindle get better?

I've found a poorly documented feature in Eclipse called MultiEditor.
Having perused what docs there are it appears that Eclipse has the built-in
ability to open several editors side by side. In the tapestry context this
means it could be possible to open a template and have the java file and xml
open up next to it.....

I've been bugging the eclipse folks for an example implementation of the
MultiEditor to no avail so far.

You can help by adding a vote to this bug!

https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=42641

If you've never voted for, or reported, a bug before you'll have to
register, but its painless.

I figure if we pester enough, they'll come up with an example
implementation.

As always you can see reports on Spindle progress here:

Here's a screenshot of an XSL debugger in WSAD that uses a MultiEditor.

If you want to see this kind of functionality tailored for Tapestry in
Eclipse,
vote for the bug below.

I'll stop pushing this on the Tapestry User list now. I've made my point.

Geoff

PS. thanks to John Rubier for the screenshot!

Geoff,

I don't know if this will help you, but there is a Yahoo group for the
book "Contributing to Eclipse" at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/contributingtoeclipse
There are mentions of MultiEditor in the messages and it seems there is an
example in the book for it.

I'll go vote too ;)

Take care,

John
