[VOTE] Release Maven Surefire Plugin version 2.8
Hi,
We solved 16 issues:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10541&version=17039
The ability to run a single test method is the new feature in this
release: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SUREFIRE-577
A significant memory leak fix for those with really long reactor builds:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SUREFIRE-711
Also noteworthy is http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/SUREFIRE-700, which
has been hampering evolution of surefire itself severely for years.
There are still a couple of issues left in JIRA:
http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/IssueNavigator.jspa?reset=true&mode=hide&jqlQuery=project+%3D+SUREFIRE+AND+resolution+%3D+Unresolved+ORDER+BY+updated+DESC
Staging repo:
https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/maven-009/
Staging site: (Sync pending)
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-surefire-plugin-2.8/
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-failsafe-plugin-2.8/
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-surefire-report-plugin-2.8/
http://maven.apache.org/surefire/staging/
Guide to testing staged releases:
http://maven.apache.org/guides/development/guide-testing-releases.html
Vote open for 72 hours.

Fixed in r1080465. Since we're on a fairly regular release schedule
I'll just let this come out with the next release (unless someone
objects).

However, it would be good to mention in the docs that the
surefire-report-plugin now has to be run together with site-plugin-2.1
at least (SUREFIRE-566), similar to the project-info-report-plugin.
