DO NOT REPLY [Bug 53116] New: Calling the scp task to transfer a file results in the suse 11 host in shutting down all ethernet activity on host

https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=53116

             Bug #: 53116
Summary: Calling the scp task to transfer a file results in the
suse 11 host in shutting down all ethernet activity on
                    host
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.8.3
          Platform: PC
            Status: NEW
          Severity: blocker
          Priority: P2
         Component: Optional Tasks
        AssignedTo: notifications@ant.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bello@gmx.net
    Classification: Unclassified

Hi

When I transfer a big file (500 mb) it sometimes happens, that the receiving
side (suse 11) stops all network activity.
As a result, I have to restart the whole server.
This happens with different versions of jsch including the newest one and
0.1.4.2

But: it never happened with the old ant version (1.6 something I guess,
together with an jsch 1.29)

The transferrate seems pretty high as well, I do ~20 mb/s

When using pscp I am at around 8 mb/s (but at least pscp works)

Thank you

--- Comment #1 from J.M. (Martijn) Kruithof <jk...@apache.org> ---
Several bugs have been filed on Suse 11 involving large / fast file transfers
to crash the machine.
Unless you have data which indicates that ant somehow sends some incorrect data
that directly causes a crash on suse 11 please open a ticket at suse 11.
In this case please provide information for fault analysis.
