stack - curious to see what the status on this is .. 

I have a patch that uses ivy to do the dependency management and pulls the necessary files - except for the following dependencies ( thrift / protocol buffers (contrib-stargate ) and zookeeper  ). 

For now - may be we can just version those piece of software until the ivy repositories become available. Else - dependency management using ivy should be available soon.
