[jira] [Created] (WHIRR-474) Add functions that can be used as
basic distributed synchronisation primitives in bash scripts
Add functions that can be used as basic distributed synchronisation primitives in bash scripts
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: WHIRR-474
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WHIRR-474
Project: Whirr
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: core
Reporter: Andrei Savu
Fix For: 0.7.1
I'm think about things like: wait_for_port, wait_for_http_response, wait_for_tcp_response etc. The Hadoop Datanode can then use wait_for_port to wait for the Namenode.

David Alves commented on WHIRR-474:
-----------------------------------
Would this still be relevant after the dependency stuff (WHIRR-221) is available?
