JDK1.4 hardwired INFO in constructor

Hi there

I see from the archives that others have mentioned this problem.
I just picked up commons-logging today and want to use it with JDK1.4
logging (with move to log4j later) but it is pretty unworkable as is with
this problem.

Is there a release (current or upcoming) that fixes this problem?
