Re: [CCC 2026] Volunteering for the CFP review committee
Hi all,
Bumping this thread now that the CFP has closed, and also to see who else
might be interested in helping with the reviews.
ASF does not appear to define a strict minimum number of organisations that
should be involved. Still, for diversity and transparency, I think it would
be good to have at least three or four reviewers from different
organisations, where possible.
Ivet has been coordinating the CFP so far, so we have ShapeBlue
represented, and I would also be happy to participate independently, as I
am no longer with ShapeBlue. It would be great to have another one or two
people from other organisations volunteering as well.
Does that make sense to everyone?
Best,
Andrija

Thanks, Ivet, and thanks for coordinating this.
The proposed group sounds good to me, and I am looking forward to helping
with the CFP review.
Just out of curiosity, through which channel did Wido and Simon volunteer?
I may have missed an email or an earlier discussion.
For future occasions, I think it would be good for the call for reviewers,
and the resulting group, to be visible on the relevant public mailing list,
so that every interested community member has the same opportunity to
volunteer. This helps keep the process open and avoids any impression that
decisions are being made elsewhere.
For this year, I am happy to proceed with the group as listed.
What are the next steps? Will you start a separate email thread with the
four reviewers so that we can agree on the review criteria, scoring
process, conflicts of interest and final selection process?
** I can already confirm that I will not take part in reviewing, scoring,
discussing or deciding on my own presentation proposal, and I assume the
same conflict-of-interest principle will apply to all reviewers **
Regards,
Andrija
