    Resolution: Won't Fix

thanks for the suggestion
but avoiding some compilation is not of any value here

> DEFAULT_JAVA_API_LINKS values to be held in properties file
> -----------------------------------------------------------
>
> Key: MJAVADOC-331
> URL: https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MJAVADOC-331
> Project: Maven 2.x Javadoc Plugin
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Reporter: Luke Robertson
>
> Currently DEFAULT_JAVA_API_LINKS values are held in static fields under /maven-javadoc-plugin-2.8/src/main/java/org/apache/maven/plugin/javadoc/AbstractJavadocMojo.java
> Suggest that moving these out to a properties file would mean that should an issue similar to http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MJAVADOC-301 occur again this would not require the plugin to be recompiled.
