[jira] [Created] (AURORA-320) Use git-describe to determine version instead of .auroraversion file

Kevin Sweeney created AURORA-320:
------------------------------------

Summary: Use git-describe to determine version instead of .auroraversion file
                 Key: AURORA-320
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AURORA-320
             Project: Aurora
          Issue Type: Task
          Components: Build, Continuous Integration
            Reporter: Kevin Sweeney

Based on the mailing-list discussion here [1] we should update gradle and pants configuration to use git-describe for version metadata instead of .auroraversion.
