[jira] [Created] (SOLR-18380) Remove CloudSolrClient connect()/legacy Builder constructor
Eric Pugh created SOLR-18380:
--------------------------------
Summary: Remove CloudSolrClient connect()/legacy Builder constructor
Key: SOLR-18380
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SOLR-18380
Project: Solr
Issue Type: Sub-task
Environment: `StreamFactory.withCollectionZkHost`/`withDefaultZkHost`/`getDefaultZkHost`/`getCollectionZkHost` and `SolrClientCache.getCloudSolrClient(String)` have been deprecated since 10.1 in favor of the `CloudSolrClientConnection`-based methods (`withCollectionUseThisConnection`, `withDefaultSolrConnection`, `getCloudSolrClient(CloudSolrClient.CloudSolrClientConnection)`). Public `solrj-streaming` API used by external streaming-expression code.
Reporter: Eric Pugh
`CloudSolrClient.connect()`/`connect(long, TimeUnit)` and the matching `ClusterStateProvider.connect()` (10.0) are deprecated in favor of `getLiveNodes()`. `CloudSolrClient.Builder(List<String>, Optional<String>)` is deprecated in favor of a connection-string constructor. `CloudSolrClient.getClusterState()` is also deprecated (10.1) but its own javadoc says "the future of ClusterState isn't clear" — recommend leaving that one out until a direction is picked, and scoping this ticket to just the `connect()`/`Builder` cleanup.
