"Damaged" commons-logging.jar in Beta1?

HI!

In commons-logging.jar of Axis Beta1, there are not only .class files, but also .java files. In the original JAR, there are no sources, thus the JAR is much smaller.

Also, in the Axis version, the Jdk14Logger.class is missing.

Is this by intention?

Regards,
Thomas

Thomas,

Yes, JDK14* is missing...Avalon Logging Support is missing as well. AFAIK there has not been a
"formal" release of the jakarta commons logging api. Even if you pick up the daily build from
http://jakarta.apache.org/builds/jakarta-commons/nightly/commons-logging/ you will not see the
JDK14 support. The reason java files were included in the Jar is so that you can compile the
classes yourself if you need it.

Thanks,
dims
