The enhancement engine 'langid' to language guessing uses the LGPL licensed library net.sourceforge.textcat. Furthermore this library is used in an IKS specific version identified as 1.0.1-IKS and loaded from http://www.dfki.de/~kasper/IKS/maven. It is unclear who owns the copyrights here.
The dependency to the LGPL library should be removed. If this is not possible, the whole engine should be removed from Stanbol code base. Perhaps it is possible to provide such an engine through the IKS project and keep maintenance of this engine there. From Stanbol point of view this engine is optional.

I see that textcat version was changed to 1.0.1 but it is still a LGPL licensed lib.

I contacted the providers of the library for a change of license e.g. to the same license as the non-Java lib (BSD), but have not yet received an answer.
