You can't in the free version, don't recall the number exactly but there is
a limit of content which is quite reachable for a long term solution.

Yes, excellent support for bots/web hooks.

I also like how you can search old chat threads as well as be alerted when text matches certain patterns.

Didn't investigate more than connecting and saying hello on few channels
but seems gitter.im is used for a lot of OS projects (probably cause linked
to github/twitter OOTB). Maybe another option if we are tired of IRC.
