Cannot remove new line character between two sections

I have two read-only sections in a Writer document with a new line character in between, and the program will not let me remove that new line character! How can I make this happen?

I'm guessing you mean an empty paragraph, as a line break is easy to
remove. I suspect you cannot remove this. But there are workarounds:

o Set the font size of the empty paragraph as small as possible. The
smallest font size offered to me is six points - but you can type
values into the relevant fields and the smallest value I can get to
stick is two points.

o Set the paragraph line spacing (at Format | Paragraph... | Indents
& Spacing | Line spacing) as small as possible. If I select Fixed,
the smallest value I can enter is 0.05 cm - which has a very similar
effect to the two-point method above.

o (Best) Hide the empty paragraph, using character formatting. Go to
Format | Character... | Font Effects, and tick Hidden.

I trust this helps.

Sounds like yet another example of why a Word Perfect "Reveal Codes" type
function is so badly needed in OO. 😊

Xavier - R U sure it is a newline character, or you are just seeing a
blank line?

Because sometimes, certain formatting causes this to happen.
So, what is the format of the section above and the section below?

Then you haven't seen Insert | Section... | Section | Write
protection - where you can protect a section from modification,
either with or without a password.

As far as I know you can make a document read only by password protection.
I never seen the possibility to do this for sections.
