Git Repo Line-endings

Hi Infra,

Looking for some advice on the best way to handle Git EOL issues that 
seem to crop up.

Do we have a standard or recommended .gitattributes file for Apache Git 
hosted Java projects?

Seem to find myself cherry picking from various resources, but have no 
definitive guide.
