Currently the {{sys.impala_query_live}} table warns about missing statistics when queried:

WARNING: The following tables are missing relevant table and/or column statistics.
{quote}

Estimate statistics from the planning coordinators current state to improve planning.

Also consider forcing joins with impala_query_live scans to always be on the build side, and use broadcast, to minimize work on coordinators.
